webcam?

I have a webcam that I occasionally turn on.

In case you haven't heard of the idea, a webcam is just a camera that periodically takes a picture and sends it to a website (this one) so that visitors (you) can see it.

It's possible that you'll see me on the webcam, but if she's around, you're more likely to see Pearl, who likes to hang out in my room sometimes. You might even see Maggie. They're way prettier than me, so they're better subjects for the camera, if they're available.

the way it works

If the webcam's not updating, the page will tell you so, and will refresh itself in a few minutes to check again. While you wait, you'll be treated to a lovely random picture from the static images collection.

If the webcam is active, you'll see it on the top right of most pages on the site and the webcam page will refresh more frequently.

Not really.

I had the camera, wasn't using it for anything, and thought it would be fun.

If you catch me doing something embarrassing like scratching or picking or some other less-than-genteel thing, don't be so smug; you do it too.
