Too quiet

The Big Tile Project enters its second week. I'm really tired of my house looking like this:

Getting new tile makes your house messy

That's the front entryway into the house. Part of the tile going down the hall is set. That gray stuff is on top of the old linoleum, and the tile goes on it. Notice the big pile of junk in the lower right of this picture. That's not our junk.

Our kitchen oven is sitting in the dining room.

Supposedly they'll finish the downstairs tile today, but no one can walk on it for 24 hours. Since you can't really explain that to a dog, we have to block off parts of the house and try to keep the dogs on the set tile and off the not-yet-set tile.

Since it will be too hard to do that today, the dogs are at doggie day camp. This means the house is really quiet and there are no warm spots on the couch downstairs. No one's going in and out the dog door, and when the mail lady comes this afternoon, no one will bark at her.

But once the tile guy gets here, there will be plenty of noise. Tile saws running, loud music, and so on.

That's better than the total quiet that's happening right now.
