Today's the first day of The Big Tile Project here at our place. Three bathrooms, the kitchen, the downstairs hallway, and the entry area by the front door will be having their linoleum and carpet ripped out and replaced with mind-bogglingly expensive tile.

We'll have a couple of guys here making noises, messes, and hopefully beautiful flooring for around a week.

This means that the dogs are upstairs with me, captive in my room. I'm getting some pretty great pictures on the webcam, but I can tell that they'd rather be downstairs on the couch or out in the backyard.

I'm hoping that this will turn out like we want, because it sure took a lot to plan it, and it will sure be difficult to undo it.

I'll be spending the week mentally preparing for cold floors on my bare feet. That will take some getting used to.
