My dogs hate getting their nails clipped. It's so traumatic that they look at me funny for a while afterwards, as though they think that I might come after them again and they need to be ready to run away.

Obviously, we only do it because we love them, but it's hard to explain that to a dog. It's right up there with "this hurts me more than it hurts you."

Lucky for all of us, tomorrow is doggie bath night. Compared to nail clipping, baths are no problem. Pearl even seems to like it.
