Dog Stitches

It started when Maggie got a cut under her chin (probably from playing let's-chew-on-each-other's-faces with Pearl) and needed two stitches. Note to vets: that wimpy liquid stitch stuff doesn't work with you have a patient who likes to play "let's-chew-on-each-other's-faces" with her big sister. Seems obvious to me now, hindsight being clear like it is.

The Maggie jowl is all better now, but Sunday, Pearl was at the front window, barking like mad at a little dog out on the sidewalk when she got her foot caught in the floor air vent. She nearly cut off a toe on her back left foot. It was a really scary slice, and the vet said she almost cut the ligament, which would have meant permanent gimpy toe for Ms. Pearl.

So now, she has three stitches in her toe for a few days. And I can tell that it hurts.

One day, all the dogs at my house will be healthy. I hope.
