David Manning doesn't exist

Whenever I look at the movie part of the newspaper, I have a quick way of determining if a movie is not worth the price of admission or the use of my time.

I look at the quotes that the advertising people put in their movie's ads. Not so much for what the quote says, but from what film critic the quote originated.

If Joe Schmuck from the Tri-Country Farm Herald says, "The best movie of the year! Brilliant! An extravaganza of movie-making genius never before paralleled in the course of human history!", I know this really means, "Stay away from this movie."

I guess I pay attention to what's quoted from the film critics I respect, but mostly it's screening for superlative by unknown people for unknown media outlets.

So I would not have been a victim of this scandalous fraud recently perpetrated by Sony Pictures Entertainment.
