Turn On Your Headlights
Wednesday, November 24, 2004 @ 14.14 CST

It might be nice if car manufacturers would get together and agree that your headlights must automatically turn on when you turn on your windshield wipers.

Too bad there are people who don't think this way on their own. From either a sense of personal responsibility, or a desire to not act like a moron.

I think you should have your driver's license suspended if you're driving on the crowded interstate with your headlights off in dark, cloudy, rainy, windy weather. And if you're doing it while talking on your cell phone in your 5,000 pound SUV, your vehicle should automatically pull over to the side of the road, then spontaneously combust.

As bad as my experience was this morning, I suspect the drive home will be more thrilling, since it's now snowing.

Turn on your headlights whenever you turn on your wipers.

(I feel like a grumpy old man.)
