I haven't written anything here in a long time. Boo.

In the past month and a half:

  • Julie went to visit Shelly in Austin
  • We both went to New York to visit family and friends
  • We had good friends move in one street over and have a lovely baby named Emma
  • We signed a contract with a local company to build a new deck in the backyard, as the old one is rotting
  • I had to get out the lawnmower once again

Other stuff happened, of course, but those are the highlights. Except for the last one.

It's perfect weather at the moment. I'm sitting out on the (old) deck, and it's 78 degrees, 44% humidity, with no mosquitoes. The dogs are coming in and out of the dog door, not really interested in what I'm doing. Good times. I can almost forget the fact that it's Monday night and I've already worked 18 hours this week.

I could get used to this sitting around on the deck in beautiful weather.
