My friend Walter is going to voluntarily (!) run more than 26 miles tomorrow with 30,000 other people in the New York City Marathon.
While I consider this marginally insane, I know it's a big challenge and I wish him well. This is his first marathon. He'll be under pressure, since his wife Mary Ellen ran (and finished) her first marathon last week.
Also, there's that "try not to kill yourself by running too much" to think about.
Walter has a running log on his site which seems to indicate that, on average, he's run more on a daily basis than I've driven in the past few months. I think he's up for it.
So, go Wassa go, and try not to throw up.
Me, I'll probably kick back in the La-Z-Boy and watch some football or something...
