No A/C

Our air conditioner stopped working last night. Just in time for "high in the mid 90s with a heat index reaching 105 to 110."

We avoided the hottest part of the day yesterday, since it went out some time around 6:00pm. Hopefully one of the repair guys I called will follow through on their promise to call this morning "around 8:00" so we can avoid the hottest part of today.

Too bad this happened while we have company staying with us. Julie's parents are visiting this weekend.

I'm just pretending like I'm staying at Grandma's house, where there was no central air conditioning to begin with. It's a nice reminder that we modern folk with air conditioning and computers and so on are a bunch of wimps.

It's not terribly bad right now. It's fairly cool outside and the attic fan is moving some of that air around inside the house. Of course, if it's 3:00pm and 95 degrees outside and 95 degrees inside because the A/C guy still hasn't showed, I might have to change my opinion.
