Julie's first dog is Sandy, a sweet Cocker Spaniel. In her youth, she loved chasing things in the backyard, playing with Julie, and table scraps. She's 16 years old now. I think she probably still loves table scraps.

Sandy has been having a lot of health problems lately, and the vet thinks there's not much to be done.

So Friday afternoon, Julie will drive to Memphis. Saturday morning, they'll go to the vet to have Sandy put to sleep. Saturday afternoon, they'll bury her in a casket Julie's dad made.

This is really sad for us, especially for Julie. I would go with her, but we decided it would be better if she went by herself, for a few reasons.

Sandy is a wonderful dog.

We will miss her, because we love her.
