Geocaching - GC147 - "Under the Boardwalk"

We went geocaching for the first time a few weeks ago.

It was fun!

It was a nice day, sunny, just a little cool. We took Maggie with us to Laumeier Sculpture Park, which is only three miles from our house. There are lots of interesting things to look at there.

We used the GPS to find a close parking spot, then headed down the nearest trail.

If you're moving, the GPS can tell you what in which direction your waypoint lies. When we reached a branch in the trail, we could look at the general direction of the trail and tell which branch we should take. Not very hard at all.

Eventually, we found the installation which contained the stash.

After a few minutes of nosing around on the wrong side of the piece, we found it!

Inside, there was a ton of random stuff. I knew what to expect, but it was still interesting to see what people had taken and what people had left behind.

I also read the entire log book, which had maybe 15 entries from various people. You're not expected to write a novel, and most people just wrote the details of where they're from, how the found the cache, who they had with them, and so on.

All in all, it was a great time, and we're definitely ready to go again sometime soon.
