Dogs : Maggie

Maggie is eight years old and was the first new thing in the new house. In retrospect, it might not be a such a good idea to buy a house on Monday and bring a puppy home on Wednesday, but I considered having a dog the best reason to have a house.

Maggie came from a very nice breeder outside St. Louis. Her father was a champion Boxer, and Maggie is AKC registered. Her official name is "JM's Sweet Magnolia," but she's much more likely to be called "Maggie Moo." Yes, this is inspired from the ice cream store.

Puppy

Maggie was a really cute puppy.

Notable traits

Maggie has great jowls.

Maggie believes in comfort. The blanket is comfortable, but the couch is better. And better than the couch by itself is the couch with a pillow tucked under her chin. With the blanket, preferably.

When she's hot, her favorite spot is the floor vent by the front window. She doesn't seem to mind that the rest of us aren't getting any cool air.

When Maggie's ears get flapped back, they stay like that until she shakes her head as dogs do. I call it Bat-Mode.

When Maggie gets hot, her tongue seems to get longer, and the end spreads out and curls up. It reminds me of an angry cobra.
