Dogs : Millie and Mollie
At the end of October 2004, we took a trip to my parents' house to meet Maggie and Pearl's new aunties, Millie and Mollie, the seven week old Basset Hound puppies that my folks had just brought home.

Millie

Millie is very curious and likes to get into things. For a six pound dog, she was pretty brave. She has more white on her nose and her head is darker.
Mollie

Mollie is more of a cuddler and seems pretty content to lie down and let the world go by. Her ears are outrageously large:

Puppy
They're being crate trained right now, and they seemed to like it just fine:

They're obviously extremely cute, and once they learn where the potty is and isn't, and once they start sleeping all night long, they'll be even better.
They chew, they whine, they fall asleep in seconds, and they like to play. They're just like puppies.
The Nieces
Our girls were pretty interested in the puppies, of course:

It didn't take long for Millie to come out from under the chair to play:

...and eventually, we all decided we could be friends. The puppies were happy to play with the big dogs, and the big dogs were just fascinated.

Dog People
I'm a big dog person, and I get it from my Mom and Dad. It had been two years to the month since Peanut passed away, and they decided they'd gone long enough without a dog around. It's pretty ambitious to take on two puppies, but it seems that it'll be worth the effort.
My parents have never had two dogs, as far as I know. In my experience, it can be great to have two; they entertain each other and are always fun to watch.
I know Millie and Mollie have already brought lots of happiness, and when they get to be big lumbering, slobbery couch potatoes, it'll be fun to think back to when you could pick up both of them at once.
